That unmistakable smell of the theater, the velvet seats, the elegant carpet, the precious chandelier, the pointe shoes tapping on the wooden stage, the concerts, the comedies, and much more. It’s a unique atmosphere that will soon come back to life thanks to the dedication and passion poured into the renovation of the Teatro Nuovo in Mirandola.
From 1905 to Today: The Teatro Nuovo in Mirandola
Inaugurated on September 16, 1905, with the opera La Gioconda by Amilcare Ponchielli, the Teatro Nuovo is not just a historic building but a place that has marked important moments for the community. Just a few days after its opening, on October 8, it hosted a charity concert for the victims of the earthquake in Calabria, immediately revealing its social and cultural role. However, in 2012, it suffered severe damage due to the earthquake that struck Emilia and was left abandoned for almost eight years. Restoration work began in 2020 but was interrupted in 2022. Finally, in 2024, the renovation resumed, bringing significant updates, particularly in fire safety.
Protherm Light: Safety and Aesthetics in Perfect Harmony
For this extraordinary renovation, a fundamental role was entrusted to our Protherm Light fireproof plaster, a product that perfectly combines technical safety and aesthetic refinement. Its innovative cement-based formula proved ideal for the Teatro Nuovo in Mirandola, enabling a smooth and flawless finish, rare in traditional fireproof plasters.
Unlike gypsum-based plasters, which struggle to create smooth and homogeneous surfaces, Protherm Light turns finishing into an art form. Its ability to offer impeccable surfaces adds a touch of sophistication that perfectly matches the theater's atmosphere, where every detail tells a story of elegance and harmony.
But it’s not just aesthetics that make Protherm Light the silent protagonist of this restoration. Its extraordinary efficiency—reducing consumption to about one-third compared to conventional fireproof plasters—made it the most sustainable choice in terms of materials and application time. It’s a solution that not only protects but also respects the balance between functionality and resources, reflecting a commitment to responsible innovation.
A New Beginning
With Protherm Light, the Teatro Nuovo in Mirandola gets a fresh new look, ready to embrace the future without forgetting its history. A blend of tradition and innovation that fills us with pride and reminds us that beauty can—and must—go hand in hand with safety.
